List of Approved Equivalent / Exemptions
Applicants who are able to show they have certain valid and current certificates are exempt from taking the ECS Health and Safety Assessment.

- Apprentices and Adult Trainees who completed S / NVQ Level 3
- NEBOSH Health and Safety Diploma (Part 1)
- NEBOSH Certificate
- Woodland Grange Diploma in HS Management (leading to MSc)
- Constructionskills (CITB) Site Management Safety Training Scheme Certificate
- Glasgow Caledonian Diploma in HS Management
Qualifications valid for three-years:-
- ECITB Health and Safety Passport
- Crediting Electrotechnical Certification Scheme (CEC) candidates
Qualifications valid for two years:-
- AMICUS AEEU / ECA Working Safely in the Electrotechnical Industry (JIB Preferred course)
- CCNSG Safety Passport (SPA)
- ECA Health and Safety for Site Managers
- ECA Health and Safety for Contract Managers
- ECA Health and Safety for Owners and Managers
- ECA Health and Safety for Site Staff and Operatives
- CIEH Foundation Certificate (Pass mark 85%)
- Woodland Grange Diploma in HS (Leading to Tech SP)
- British Safety Council Level 3 Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health
- British Safety Council Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health
Any IOSH accredited course listed below from SJIB accredited providers (Note: Providers must obtain written accreditation from the SJIB before the course) will be deemed suitable for SJIB purposes.
