Individuals who have never had a card
To find out if you qualify for an SJIB Grade (ECS) Card simply answer the questions and follow the arrows.
ECS Health & Safety Assessment (within the last 30 months) or hold a valid approved equivalent. Click here to see a list of approved equivalents; and either a
Suitably assessed training on the Requirements of IET Wiring Regulations (BS7671) (within the last 5 years); or
EAL Level 3 Diploma in Requirements for Electrical Installation to BS 7671 (code: 500/3484/4) (within the last 5 years); or
EAL Level 3 Award Requirements for Electrical Installation to BS 7671 (code: 600/3719/2) (within the last 5 years); or
Suitably assessed training on the requirements of Inspection & Testing (BS7671)
(within the last 5 years)

Please Note: If you meet the criteria listed in the flowchart the SJIB will award you an Electricians SJIB Grade (ECS) Card. No other grade will be allocated to you until you have been graded as an Electrician for at least two years.
