To find out if you qualify for an SJIB Grade (ECS) Card simply answer the questions and follow the arrows
Have you completed a recognised Electrical Installations Apprenticeship and have the appropriate certificates/documentation?
The SJIB will not consider issuing a Provisional Electricians grade card without these documents.
Complete and return an Initial Grading form together with proof you have completed SELECT's ECS Health and Safety course.

Upon approval the SJIB will send you a non-graded card.
Did you complete an apprenticeship in any of the following countries?
Australia, Croatia, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal, South Africa, Spain.
Have your certificates/documentation been translated into English?
Can you provide certificates proving you have successfully completed the following (assessed) training:-
SELECT'S ECS Health & Safety Course (within the last 30 months)
And either the
City & Guilds IET Wiring Regulations to BS 7671 – Full Course only (within the last 5 years);
EAL Level 3 Diploma in Requirements for Electrical Installations (code 500/3484/4) (within the last 5 years); or
EAL Level 3 Award Level Diploma in Requirements for Electrical Installation to BS 7671 (code 500/3484/4) (within the last 5 years)

Have you completed the Crediting Electrotechnical Competency (CEC) Programme and received an SVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation?
Complete and return the Provisional Grading application
issued by the SJIB together with all other relevant certificates/documentation, photo etc for approval.
A 'Provisional' grade card will last for a period of 18 months during which time you must have completed the CEC programme and have achieved an SVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation.
NB: Fees for CEC Registration and a Provisional card are non-refundable.
Have you completed the CEC Programme within 18 months and received an SVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation?
Complete and return an Initial Grading form together with all relevant certificates/documentation, photo etc to the SJIB and you will be graded as an Electrician.

Please Note: If you meet the criteria listed in the flowchart the SJIB will award you an Electricians SJIB (ECS) Grade Card. No other grade will be allocated to you until you have been graded as an Electrician for at least two years.
