Object, Operatives Covered & Employer Participants

1.1 Object

The SJIB offers two methods by which employers may save for holiday pay.  The object of these schemes is to secure rest periods with pay for Operatives.  They are not a means by which Operatives can achieve extra pay if they do not take the prescribed holidays.

1.2 Operatives covered by the Schemes

These schemes shall apply to all Technicians, Approved Electricians, Electricians, Labourers, Apprentices and Adult Trainees whose rates of wages and working conditions are determined by the SJIB.

1.3 SJIB Employer Participants

Participation in these schemes is compulsory for all employers registered as Full Members of the SJIB who operate within the Electrical Contracting Industry in Scotland.
