Electricians who passed their FICA between August 1995 and the 1st September 2008 and are looking to re-grade to an Approved Electrician.
To find you if you qualify to be re-graded to approved status simply answer the questions and follow the arrows
Did you pass your FICA between August 1995 and the 1st September 2008 and can provide evidence that you completed an SVQ Level 3 apprenticeship in Electrical Installation?
Did you start your apprenticeship after August 2007?
Did you start your apprenticeship in Electrical Installations prior to August 1995?
Did you complete the Distance Learning Course and the Enhanced week at college (35 hours) during the third stage of your apprenticeship?

Have you had at least two years experience as an SJIB graded Electrician?
You will have to wait until you have two years experience as a qualified Electrician.
Have you completed the Statement of Experience form and submitted a copy to SECTT?
Having approved the Statement of Experience SECTT will return a copy to you and your employer. In addition SECTT will send your employer a copy of the Employer Declaration form and the ACA Application form which should be completed by your employer and returned to SECTT.
If the aforementioned paperwork is correct SECTT will make the necessary arrangements for you to sit the ACA.
Having successfully completed the ACA the SJIB will send you and your employer the results and re-grade form which should be completed by you and your employer and returned to the SJIB. The SJIB will send your new card on to you. Failure to provide relevant certificates/documentation will result in such qualifications not being included on your card and could delay your application.
