Electricians who passed their FICA between August 1995 and the 1st September 2008 (Self Employed)
Self Employed Electricians who passed their FICA between August 1995 and the 1st September 2008 and are looking to re-grade to an Approved Electrician.
To find you if you qualify to be re-graded to approved status simply answer the questions and follow the arrows
Did you pass your FICA between August 1995 and the 1st September 2008 and can provide evidence that you completed an SVQ Level III apprenticeship in Electrical Installation?
Did you start your apprenticeship after August 2007?
Did you start your apprenticeship in Electrical Installations prior to August 1995?

Did you complete the Distance Learning Course and the Enhanced week at college (35 hours) during the third stage of your apprenticeship?
Click the link to contact SECTT who will advise you which college you should contact to make the necessary arrangements
Have you had at least two years experience as an SJIB graded Electrician?
You will have to wait until you have two years experience as a qualified, graded Electrician.
Have you completed the Enhanced Log Book or the Self Employed Declaration form and submitted a copy to SECTT?

Having approved the Self Employed Declaration SECTT will return a copy to you together with the ACA Application form which should be completed and returned to SECTT.
If the aforementioned paperwork is correct SECTT will make the necessary arrangements for you to sit the ACA.

Having successfully completed the ACA the SJIB will send you the results and re-grade form which should be completed and returned to the SJIB. The SJIB will send your new card on to you.
If you completed an SJIB apprenticeship and are unsure of your start date
please contact SECTT who will advise accordingly.
