Holiday Pay and Statutory Top-Up Payments

(g) Holiday Pay and Statutory Top-Up Payments

All employees entitled to holiday pay as per (2f), shall receive a minimum of basic salary for any annual holidays.  The statutory top-up payment is calculated on the normal working hours at the average hourly rate over the previous 12 weeks.

Amount of Top-up payable per week of holiday:

1. Average earnings per week = 37.5 hours x normal earnings over the last 12 weeks worked ÷ Number of hours worked in the last 12 week period

2. Deduct graded* earnings per week  =  37.5 hours x graded hourly rate (shop rate)

3. =  Amount of Top-up payable per week of holiday

* The grade of pay used for the calculation is the grade at which holiday credits are being purchased at the time of the holiday (i.e. electrician, approved electrician, etc.).

Normal earnings include:

• Basic rate of pay (37½ hrs)
• Responsibility Money
• Regular Weekly Bonus Payments
• Shift and Night Work premium
• London Weighting
• Contractual Overtime

Normal earnings DO NOT include:

• Overtime hours worked over and above the basic number of hours (37½ hrs)
• Ad hoc bonus payments
• Daily Travelling, Country and Lodging Allowances
